As of October 1, 2017, DACHSER logistics experts and Fraunhofer IML researchers have joined forces to work together on research and development projects.
Logistics provider DACHSER is investing some 6.5 million euros in a new 20,000-square-meter facility in Stans in Tyrol, Austria. DACHSER Austria has now held the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for the new terminal, which is scheduled to begin operations in late 2017 and will create 40 new jobs.
Ten years after the opening of the new building in June 2007 in Mouscron, DACHSER, a leading international logistics provider in Europe, is looking back on a successful story. The activities have evolved from a provider in custom services to a full-service branch for European-wide logistics solutions.
Dachser has enjoyed another year of growth in the Benelux, seeing net sales for 2016 rise by more than 13%. The logistics service provider also achieved good results in the Netherlands. DACHSER’s substantial investments, which have been subject over the past years, are paying off.

Market Information

In response to the capacity crunch in the upcoming peak season starting from last week of October, DACHSER will be launching a once a week charter rotation service from Frankfurt to Shanghai, Pudong Airport (and back) for the calendar weeks 44-50.
Now that we’re approaching the end of the year, there are several holidays upon us.
Due to the consistently strong air freight market and expected strong business in the fall, early capacity bottlenecks are predicted for 2017. Whereas an earlier peak season is expected for shipments from Europe to Asia (and vice-versa), capacities on the transatlantic route are already being heavily utilized.
The ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam are currently heavily congested due to multiple factors, including the restructure of shipping alliances, raising cargo volume and the usage of bigger vessels. The cyber attack earlier at the end of June worsened the situation.
