Effective transport – comprehensive information

DOMINO is the software developed by Dachser that combines all order processing and transport management functions into a single integrated system. DOMINO provides technical support for freight processes, order monitoring, Tracking & Tracing, invoicing, packaging material management, and scheduling.

Barcode
In 1993, Dachser began using standardized SSCC barcodes from the world of EAN 128. All packages are provided with these labels, allowing them to be clearly identified worldwide. Data is scanned at the interfaces throughout the entire shipment process, so that up-to-date information can always be retrieved.

Penkey
To guarantee uninterrupted Tracking & Tracing in real time, our local transport vehicles are equipped with Penkeys, a mobile computer system. These handheld computers instantly send collection and delivery data, as well as an electronic proof of delivery, to DOMINO via GPRS.

Digital photos
Digital cameras are used to record any discrepancies staff discover in goods (e.g. poor packaging) at the transshipment warehouse. This additional information is also sent to the central archiving system.

Updates
The systems we have developed are updated each week with Dachser’s special PGM Change method, ensuring that their status is always current.
