Jochen Müller took up the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for DACHSER’s Air & Sea Logistics business field on January 1, 2018. He replaces Thomas Reuter, who retired at the end of last year after 39 years at DACHSER. Müller joined DACHSER on October 1, 2016 to prepare for his duties as COO.
Blockchain is a technology that allows users to execute and document transactions in a secure environment without the use of intermediaries such as banks, platforms or notaries. This makes it attractive not only to the finance sector but to the logistics industry as well. But does it really harbor the potential to increase security, accelerate processes and cut costs?
As part of the presentation of the European Transport Award for Sustainability (ETPN), this year DACHSER received the Special Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. The company came first in the Transportation and Forwarding Companies category.
The logistics operator strengthens its logistics network in France, Poland and Slovakia, in the coming months. This initiative will improve network capacity and its connection with the rest of Europe, thanks to the inauguration of two new warehouses and the renovation of two more in these countries.


The logistics operator will provide its wide range of logistic solutions at CEVISAMA trade fair, an internationally renowned event for companies and experts from the architecture and home decor industry worldwide, which takes place between the 5th and 9th February in Valencia (Spain).
For the tenth year in a row, DACHSER - previously as Azkar until last year’s rebranding process - will be the Official Logistics company of La Vuelta and will provide full logistic support to the sporting event. The presentation of La Vuelta 2018 took place on 13th January in Estepona (Málaga) and unveiled some interesting surprises; new peaks such as Les Praeres de Navas (Asturias) and Balcón de Bizcaia (País Vasco), and other historic climbs such as Los Lagos de Covadonga or La Camperona, both in Asturias.
In the latest “Top 100 in Logistics in Europe” study, DACHSER once again takes the top spot in the European groupage transportation segment. And on the “special transports” market (including food logistics), the company rose from seventh to fourth place.
The logistics provider and Mercedes-Benz Trucks are taking on innovation and sustainability in city distribution together, with their first hybrid truck in the DACHSER Iberia fleet, a FUSO Canter Eco Hybrid 7C15 marketed by Mercedes-Benz Trucks. This initiative will unveil the first vehicle with an electric engine to ride through emblematic areas such as Gran Vía and Puerta del Sol, in anticipation of Madrid’s Plan for Air Quality and Climate Change, expected for 2025.
