Ocean freight market remains tight

The ocean freight market from and to Far East remains challenging. You will find further details in our newsletter. Please plan enough time in advance for pre-bookings to assure timely deliveries.
Transunion

We'd also like to suggest to plan ahead already now for the peak season towards the end of the year, especially for the Golden Week (week 40, starting October 1, 2017). Your DACHSER contact can give advice how to assure a smooth supply chain flow.

Far East - Europe

Ports in North China are still congested, shipments are most likely to be delayed. Shrinking capacities of eastbound vessels as well as bad seasonal weather conditions create container backlogs and delay departures. The ongoing implementation of carrier alliances is aggravating the situation. As space is extremely tight, rates are likely to increase.

Europe - Far East

Space is very tight. However, first indications point to a slight recovery by end of May/June. Accordingly, rates remain at a high level even if they already decreased compared to the latest peak.

Far East - South America

The space situation remains very tense; rates climbed as of May 1. There are no signs that the situation will ease in the near future.
