Maintain your supply chain during Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year (CNY) is regarded as one of the biggest migrations on earth. Chinese people return to their homes which are often far away from their working place. The close-down of factories in Mainland China has a considerable impact on worldwide supply chains. Imbalance of cargo volume between China and Europe happens every year during this time. A special situation is expected not only during the five-day period, but also the weeks before and after.
The Mainland China offices will be closed during the Chinese New Year period from 27 January to 2 February 2017.

In 2017, the Mainland China offices will be closed during the Chinese New Year period from 27 January to 2 February 2017.

One to two weeks before Chinese New Year, factories will speed up their production. They will close down completely during Chinese New Year. Production will resume after and be back to normal one to two weeks after the holidays.

At the same time, cargo from Europe often accumulates because European shippers keep it on hold during the festive season of their Chinese business partners.

The lack of eastbound cargo makes the round-trip inefficient for air freight carries which will reduce capacity on both, eastbound and westbound cargo.
