Thomas Reuter learned the craft from the ground up, being a constant in the DACHSER family since 1978. He is the Chief Operations Officer Air & Sea Logistics (COO Air & Sea Logistics).
With Thomas Reuter as COO, Air & Sea Logistics connects the executive unit Air & Sea Logistics to the worldwide procurement markets and consumers. It thus serves the entire global supply chains and provides the prerequisites for DACHSER to continuously further additional expansions in a worldwide context as well.
Thomas Reuter, born in 1957; after his training to become a freight forwarding specialist, absolved the advanced training program at the German Academy of Foreign Trade and Transport (DAV) in Bremen, sponsored by DACHSER, where he qualified as a graduate in transport management and operations. Since 1978, he has been a constant in the DACHSER family. He initially proved himself in his position as a customer consultant in the "local traffic" department at the branch in Mannheim. "In this job, I learned the business from ground up," remembers Thomas Reuter.
He began his career in DACHSER’s foreign operations in 1982, as deputy manager of the export/import department for Western Europe. Beginning in 1984, he managed the export department; one year later - at the age of 28 - he was named an authorized officer. From 1986 to 1990, Thomas Reuter was responsible for all western European overland freight services of the branch.
