Experienced logistics manager Jochen Mueller will soon be joining the DACHSER team. On January 1, 2018, he will take over for Thomas Reuter as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Air & Sea Logistics business field. The transition period, during which Mueller will work on developing projects, will start on October 1 of this year. Thomas Reuter will remain on the Executive Board in his role as head of Air & Sea Logistics through the transition period until he retires on December 31, 2017.

Chinese Authorities have issued further information regarding actions to prevent Zika from spreading to China. All shipments from certain countries are subject to anti-mosquito treatment. An updated list of the countries of origin affected was issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ).
On February 1st, 2016, the Brazil Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) imposed a regulation that requires all cargo to and from Brazil to disclose information about wooden packaging material on the ocean bill of lading. We would like to remind our customers of this important regulation and the need to comply.
Effective July 1, 2016, the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will start being enforced. The convention specifies that shippers are responsible and shall verify on their documentation the Verified Gross Mass of a container prior to it being loaded on board of a vessel.
