Logistics provider DACHSER is investing approximately 6.5 million Euro into a new 215,000 square feet facility located in Stans in Tyrol, Austria. DACHSER Austria recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new terminal, which is scheduled to begin operations in late 2017 and will create 40 new jobs.
DACHSER announced that it has integrated its Iberian subsidiary Azkar Group into its European road network. The overland transport organizations will operate under the names of DACHSER Spain and DACHSER Portugal in the future. CEO Bernhard Simon, COO Road Logistics Michael Schilling, and Juan Antonio Quintana, Managing Director European Logistics Iberia made the announcement at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich.
DACHSER streamlined air freight processes in the North China region after making their new air freight gateway operational. The Shanghai Pudong Airport Bonded Zone branch expanded from 32,300 to 64,600 sq. feet.

In response to the capacity crunch in the upcoming peak season, DACHSER will be launching a weekly charter rotation service from Frankfurt, Germany to Shanghai, China Pudong Airport (and back) starting the last week of October until mid December.
On Tuesday, September 19 a powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake was reported near Puebla, about 100 miles from Mexico City. Our DACHSER offices in Mexico City and Puebla were closed yesterday to inspect for any damage, but re-opened today and our employees are all accounted for. 
Irma hit Florida as a category 4 hurricane in the Florida Keys before making its way up West and Central Florida and then continuing into Georgia and Alabama. Now that Irma has passed, efforts are underway to rebuild and clean-up any destruction caused by the hurricane.
Due to massive flooding and bad weather conditions brought by Hurricane Harvey, logistics are still severely impacted at the Texas Gulf Coast area.
