It was written in the stars, that Aat van der Meer would work in logistics. He learned the tricks of the trade in his father’s company and gained experience in different transport companies in the Netherlands, before joining DACHSER in 2006.

At the time, DACHSER Netherlands had only one branch in Zevenaar, but the thriving company was growing towards maximum capacity. A new branch in Waddinxveen was set up with Aat van der Meer as its new branch manager. The branch in Waddinxveen halved the volumes in Zevenaar and created new opportunities for growth in the Netherlands.

In 2007 Aat van der Meer became managing director of DACHSER Netherlands and in 2009 he also became responsible for DACHSER Belgium. Less then a year later, in 2010, Aat van der Meer was appointed spokesman for the DACHSER international Branch and Country Managers in which he works closely with the Board of Directors in Kempten.

DACHSER flourished and the branch in Zevenaar was again bulging at the seams. In September 2012, Aat van der Meer opened one of the biggest sites in Europe, apart from Germany, on the 7poort industrial area in Zevenaar. In 2013 Waddinxveen followed with an expansion of the warehouse with 5,000 m ² in response to the growing demand for warehouse storage and contract logistics. That same year DACHSER Luxembourg also falls under Aat van der Meer, making him managing director of DACHSER Benelux.

The expansion continued and the Belgian branched were growing as well. In 2014 the Belgian branch in Willebroek moved to a brand new logistics center on industrial area MG Park De Hulst. That same year, Aat van der Meer became responsible for the Air & Sea activities in the Benelux. To optimize the intensive cooperation between the various divisions, the Air & Sea activities moved to Brussels (Brucargo) on the one hand, and Willebroek on the other hand. In 2015 Mouscron extended their cross-docking platform with 2.000 m ² and 22 loading gates to support their growth.
