Dangerous goods ban at Shanghai Pudong airport

During the Expo, the Security Bureau has implemented tight security controls nearby the Shanghai Expo area, the airport and sea port which especially affect dangerous goods. From today, October 23, up to November 12, Pudong airport will not accept dangerous goods classified as 1, 6 and 7 as well as all cargo related to firearms and ammunition. Please get in touch with your DACHSER representative to rearrange affected shipments and avoid additional storage cost.
The General Office of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau has recently suggested November 5 and 6 to be holidays to support the event. November 3 and 11 will be working days to compensate the holidays. Companies in the private sector, such as DACHSER, can individually decide upon the arrangement. DACHSER Shanghai will not follow this policy and November 5 and 6 will be working days.

China International Import Expo will take place for the first time to support trade and facilitate economic cooperation. China’s government welcomes government officials, business communities, exhibitors and professional purchasers from all around the world to the Expo. The event is hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Government and supported by international organizations World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
