The logistics provider continues pursuing its expansion strategy in Iberia with the opening of new facilities in Logroño and Zaragoza. The warehouses provide 28,000 square meters more storage capacity for strengthening the logistics service portfolio in Iberia.
Yesterday, the logistics specialist DACHSER celebrated the official opening of its new Tyrol Logistics Center in the Austrian town of Stans. The company invested some 6.5 million euros in the new facility. The site covers a total of around 20,000 square meters (215,000 sq. ft.) and began operations in late 2017.
As the groupage leader in the German and European markets, Dachser operates a close-knit overland transport network. But the logistics provider’s closely integrated groupage network extends to sea freight, too. In 2018, 26 new LCL (less than container load) connections will be launched. For six of its existing services, Dachser is increasing the frequency of departures from every two weeks to every week.

Tropical cyclone Jongdari landed on the coastal area east of Shanghai this morning local time, August 3.
Following recent announcements, all major ocean carriers are introducing an Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) for Full Container Load (FCL) and Less Container Load (LCL) shipments on all trades. DACHSER therefore sees the necessity to follow the same.
China Customs has released Order No. 56 [2017] which adjusts the already existing “China Customs Advanced Manifest” requirements for air and sea freight shipments to and out of China with effective date 1st June 2018. The purpose of this security filing is to provide the Chinese customs authorities with advance shipment data in order to improve their ability to detect suspicious shipments prior to their physical arrival in China.
In early June 2018, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit will be held in Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province in China. The event is assumed to take place from 8th to 11th June, however the exact dates have not yet been announced by the authorities due to security reasons. An update will be provided as soon as the dates are confirmed.
