Frankfurt airport location certified for transport of life science and health care products. Expanding its Life Science & Healthcare capabilities, DACHSER has obtained the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification from IATA for its Frankfurt airport branch.
By 2022, logistics provider DACHSER plans to replace all of its roughly 6,000 ground conveyors in Europe with vehicles powered by energy-saving lithium-ion batteries.
DACHSER is expanding its Karlsruhe location, adding a specially equipped warehouse for the safe storage of hazardous materials. DACHSER is investing more than EUR 20 million in an expansion of its existing logistics center in Malsch, near Karlsruhe. Construction work on a new high bay storage facility covering 21,800 square meters and with approx. 43,000 pallet spaces is in full swing. The specially equipped facility is also designed to permit the safe storage of chemical products and hazardous materials such as paints, coatings, and adhesives. The facility will become operational in the first quarter of 2019.
This year, the logistics provider will again be organizing charter flights for the Frankfurt—Shanghai—Frankfurt route, thus offering customers in central Europe and China weekly round trips during air freight’s peak season.

Due to the consistently strong air freight market and expected strong business in the current fall, we expect further capacity bottlenecks.
Following the expansion of truck tolls to include highways in July 2018, the German government has now decided to increase tolls for trucks of all classes, effective January 1, 2019.
From November 5 to 10, 2018, Shanghai will host the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Security measures will raise during this period. Shanghai Pudong airport will not accept certain hazardous goods.
