DACHSER receives award for training concept for logistics operatives

The DACHSER Blue Box, a learning environment specially designed for employees in the transshipment warehouse, was awarded first place in the Talent & Learning category of “Deutscher Personalwirtschaftspreis 2024”.

“Deutscher Personalwirtschaftspreis” is considered one of the most prestigious prizes in the field of human resources management.

The DACHSER Blue Box is a modern learning environment specially designed for logistics operatives who do not have their own desk workstation or access to the digital training catalog of the DACHSER Academy, the logistics service provider's in-house training facility. DACHSER launched the Blue Box 2022 concept to provide employees in the transshipment warehouse with a low-threshold learning opportunity. They can consume digital learning content undisturbed in the soundproofed cabin, while a screen in the door and a roller blind in the window ensure privacy. The box also includes all safety-relevant aspects such as noise reduction, collision protection and TÜV-certified ventilation. A steel floor and safety glass make the box even more secure.

Christina Müller, Head of DACHSER Academy, accepted the award at the "German HR Summit" in Frankfurt. "We are delighted to receive this prestigious award, as it underlines our commitment to making learning accessible to all employees. Creating a modern learning culture also has something to do with valuing our employees and their work," says Müller.

Homogeneous learning standard for all

"We were looking for an optimal training solution for the transshipment warehouse for a long time," says Christina Müller. "The Blue Box expands and improves the range of continuing education and training opportunities in our branches, where learning and training had to be handled differently in some cases. In this way, we are creating a homogeneous learning standard and a level playing field." The branches have the option of using software to individually create the learning content and adapt it to their local conditions. Eight boxes have now been set up in seven branches, with around 2,000 people using them - 15 more boxes are currently in production, eight of which are already firmly scheduled. The high monthly usage rates show that acceptance among employees is good. Some commercial employees also make use of the service. Another advantage is the AI-supported translation of the training courses into different languages, so that employees can complete mandatory training courses in their native language, for example. "Access to learning must be as simple as possible," says Christina Müller. "Long passwords and special characters when logging in for training courses can sometimes be an obstacle. We have taken all of this into account in our concept. After all, learning is expressly encouraged here - even during working hours."

“Deutscher Personalwirtschaftspreis” was presented in mid-November as part of the German Human Resources Summit in Frankfurt. It has been recognizing pioneering projects in the field of human resources for over 30 years and is considered one of the most prestigious prizes in the field of human resources management.
