The logistics provider has launched a new daily route with two modular vehicles connecting San Sebastian with Valencia and Albacete, on a round trip. This initiative reinforces the commitment of DACHSER for the optimization of costs and resources, with the reduction of the number of vehicles on the road, greater load capacity and lower environmental impact.
DACHSER’s Cologne logistics center has started deploying pedelecs for city-center deliveries. In addition to helping improve air quality, this move by the logistics provider is a response to the increasing number of driving restrictions, traffic jams, and construction zones that make it difficult to deliver to city centers with conventional trucks. Driving restrictions are due to come into force in Cologne’s low-emission zone on April 1, 2019.
The new center, located in the Condeixa-a-Nova, South of Coimbra (Portugal), will be 100% operational today, February 4th. The expansion of DACHSER facilities in Portugal is an addition to those made in 2018 in Logroño and Zaragoza (both in Spain), demonstrating the company´s firm commitment to the Iberian and European markets.
From January 28th to February 1st, DACHSER will be attending Cevisama, leading international fair for ceramics, bathroom equipment and natural stone, generating a great impact in architecture and interior design. The logistics provider presents a perfect match of standardized network services and tailor-made solutions for the companies attending Cevisama.
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is taking initiative to promote sustainability and reduce harmful sulphur gas emissions. While the new regulation will be fully enforced in 2020, it will likely impact logistics cost for shippers in the second half of 2019 due to investments on the carriers’ side.

DACHSER has been honored with the German CSR Award, presented by the German CSR Forum, in the “Engagement for the Civil Society” category. Bernhard Simon, CEO of DACHSER SE, and Edgar Marsh, Chairman of the Presidium of terre des hommes Germany, accepted the award from the jury foreperson for this category, Brigitta Wortmann, a member of the Board of Speakers for Germany’s National Network for Civil Society.

The increase in exports and imports between the branches of DACHSER in Spain and Korea in the last year is mainly focused on the sectors of ceramics, machinery and construction materials, as well as textile and footwear industry. In response to the economic growth experienced in the Asian country in 2018, DACHSER has moved its headquarters in Seoul to a larger and better connected facilities, with the aim of continuing to expand its logistics solutions worldwide.
For the 10th consecutive year DACHSER provides La Vuelta with a complete customized logistics solution, consisting of 31 vehicles -included four of support for the provider- and a team of 40 professionals, that will accompany the road cycling race through Spain from August 25 to September 16. As main sponsor of the competition, and also sponsor of the Team Award, DACHSER embodies precision and teamwork, as shared values with the sporting event since 2009.
Nine daily lines from San Sebastian and Barcelona have been added to the existing routes to France, doubling the number of connections between the two countries. DACHSER has a daily transporting capacity of over 155 tons of goods from Spain to France.
The award ceremony was held in Beijing by the International Public Relations Network (IPRN) and it is the first time that it honors a company from Iberia. The project "We Rock Fest" is also a finalist in other awards, such as Excellence Awards or Stevie, whose winners will be known at the end of the year. The festival “We Rock Fest” was part of the celebration for the rebranding from Azkar to DACHSER in 2017 and it took place in five cities of Iberia. The company managed the logistics between the cities, one of the highlights pointed out during the delivery of the recognition by the IPRN.
In April, DACHSER acquired all the shares in its Chilean subsidiary. The logistics provider had entered the Chilean market in 2009 as part of a joint venture.
As the groupage leader in the German and European markets, DACHSER operates a close-knit overland transport network. But the logistics provider’s closely integrated groupage network extends to sea freight, too. In 2018, 26 new LCL (less than container load) connections will be launched. For six of its existing services, DACHSER is increasing the frequency of departures from every two weeks to every week.
China Customs has released Order No. 56 [2017] which adjusts the already existing “China Customs Advanced Manifest” requirements for air and sea freight shipments to and out of China with effective date 1st June 2018.

The 72nd edition of La Vuelta counts on DACHSER, for the integral logistics management of the sporting event. On 1 July 2016 the SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) convention agreed upon by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) comes into force.  Hardly any other trade route in the world is as shrouded in myth as the Silk Road.
