Press Releases

While politicians continue to try and find a way out of the Brexit crisis, the leaving date draws inexorably closer. Now it’s up to companies to systematically plan and prepare for all eventualities. One major issue: customs.
On February 1, Vincent Touya joined DACHSER USA as Managing Director at the company’s US Regional Office in Atlanta.
Simplified customs processes, greater flexibility and safety in the flow of goods as well as cost optimization: these are only some of the benefits the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Certification offers Aerospace Cargo Logistics’ (ACL) customers.
By 2022, logistics provider DACHSER plans to replace all of its roughly 6,000 ground conveyors in Europe with vehicles powered by energy-saving lithium-ion batteries.

DACHSER’s Cologne logistics center has started deploying pedelecs for city-center deliveries. In addition to helping improve air quality, this move by the logistics provider is a response to the increasing number of driving restrictions, traffic jams, and construction zones that make it difficult to deliver to city centers with conventional trucks. Driving restrictions are due to come into force in Cologne’s low-emission zone on April 1, 2019.
The new center, located in the Condeixa-a-Nova, South of Coimbra (Portugal), will be 100% operational today, February 4th. The expansion of DACHSER facilities in Portugal is an addition to those made in 2018 in Logroño and Zaragoza (both in Spain), demonstrating the company´s firm commitment to the Iberian and European markets.
From January 28th to February 1st, DACHSER will be attending Cevisama, leading international fair for ceramics, bathroom equipment and natural stone, generating a great impact in architecture and interior design. The logistics provider presents a perfect match of standardized network services and tailor-made solutions for the companies attending Cevisama.
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is taking initiative to promote sustainability and reduce harmful sulphur gas emissions. While the new regulation will be fully enforced in 2020, it will likely impact logistics cost for shippers in the second half of 2019 due to investments on the carriers’ side.
