DACHSER is one of the main partners of the Men’s World Floorball Championships. Floorball is the fastest growing and developing team sport in Finland. The World Championships will be held in Helsinki in December 2020, but the partnership starts this year.

DACHSER posted substantial growth once again in 2018. The logistics provider increased its consolidated net revenue by 5.5 percent to EUR 5.57 billion. As they did last year, shipment numbers increased, rising by 2.5 percent to 83.7 million; tonnage rose 3.0 percent to 41.3 million metric tons. With 30,609 employees in total, up 1,511 from the preceding year, DACHSER’s workforce reached a record high.

Expanding its Life Science & Healthcare capabilities, DACHSER has obtained the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification from IATA for its Frankfurt airport branch.

This year, the logistics provider will again be organizing charter flights for the Frankfurt—Shanghai—Frankfurt route, thus offering customers in central Europe and China weekly round trips during air freight’s peak season.

As the groupage leader in the German and European markets, DACHSER operates a close-knit overland transport network. But the logistics provider’s closely integrated groupage network extends to sea freight, too. In 2018, 26 new LCL (less than container load) connections will be launched. For six of its existing services, DACHSER is increasing the frequency of departures from every two weeks to every week.

Jochen Müller took up the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for DACHSER’s Air & Sea Logistics business field on January 1, 2018. He replaces Thomas Reuter, who retired at the end of last year after 39 years at DACHSER. Müller joined DACHSER on October 1, 2016 to prepare for his duties as COO.

All across Germany, 645 young adults started their training at the logistics company DACHSER. They had a number of professional placement options to choose from: two in business, two in IT, two in the trades, and one as a professional truck driver. The family business in cooperation with universities also offers courses in business administration with a focus on freight forwarding, transport, logistics, computer science, or business IT.

In roughly four years, DACHSER has integrated its Iberian subsidiary Azkar Group into its European road network. The overland transport organizations will operate under the names of DACHSER Spain and DACHSER Portugal in the future. This was announced today by CEO Bernhard Simon, COO Road Logistics Michael Schilling, and Juan Antonio Quintana, Managing Director European Logistics Iberia, at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich.

DACHSER continued to grow in fiscal year 2016, generating consolidated gross revenue of around 5.71 billion euros—representing a consolidated revenue increase of 1.7 percent on the previous year. The number of shipments rose by 2.4 percent to 80.0 million, and tonnage by 2.4 percent to 38.2 million metric tons. This growth was driven by European overland transport as well as food logistics.

Dachser has promoted its Head of Contract Logistics, Alexander Tonn, to become the new Managing Director of European Logistics Germany. The 43-year old Tonn will take up his new position on January 1, 2017 to oversee business development of the 38 German branch offices in the European Logistics business line (overland transport and contract logistics for industrial goods). He will report to Michael Schilling, COO Road Logistics and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, who will continue to be responsible for this position in addition to his duties until the end of the year.

Experienced logistics manager Jochen Müller (52) will soon be joining the DACHSER team. On January 1, 2018, he will take over from Thomas Reuter as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Air & Sea Logistics business field. The transition period, during which Müller will work on developing projects, will start on October 1 of this year. Thomas Reuter will remain on the Executive Board in his role as head of Air & Sea Logistics through the transition period until he retires on December 31, 2017.

Kempten, Munich. April 20, 2016. DACHSER reports strong, organic growth for fiscal year 2015. Consolidated revenue increased by 6.5 percent to EUR 5.64 billion. Shipments rose by 4.0 percent to 78.1 million, while tonnage increased by 5.2 percent to 37.3 million metric tons. The primary contributors for the positive performance were the overland freight services for food and industrial goods in Europe.

New Corporate Unit is also bundling the logistics provider’s research and development activities

Kempten, February 25, 2016. DACHSER has created a new central organizational unit, Corporate Solutions, Research & Development, in order to advance its business with global, industry-specific logistics solutions and bundle its research and development activities. Stefan Hohm, an experienced DACHSER manager, will head up this new Corporate Unit. He has led the Logistics Center in Hof for the past seven years.

Children’s rights, schooling, vocational training, protection of natural resources: While continuing its ten-year collaboration in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh with the children’s aid organization terre des hommes, DACHSER is expanding its commitment to additional project regions in India, Nepal, Brazil, and Namibia. Over the next five years, the logistics provider will invest over EUR 1.1 million in local aid projects to bring lasting improvements to people’s lives by helping them help themselves.

In fiscal year 2014, DACHSER generated 5.2% in additional revenue. Including revenue from corporate holdings, the two Business Fields* Road Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics grew by 5.0% and 8.0% respectively. "A lively spring was followed by an extraordinarily strong fall," says Bernhard Simon, CEO of DACHSER, in summarizing the year's events. "The trend toward outsourcing internationally complex logistics tasks in particular has made a contribution to the organic growth."

DACHSER enters the Finnish overland transport market on June 1, 2014 and has established the joint venture DACHSER Finland Oy for this purpose. ACE Logistics Group — a network partner headquartered in Tallinn (Estonia) with whom DACHSER has already collaborated for over fifteen years in the Baltic nations — holds a fifty percent equity interest in the JV.

A strong second half-year and the successful integration of the two Spanish acquisitions, Azkar and Transunion, boosted Dachser’s revenue in 2013. The logistics service provider was able to increase its gross revenue by 13.2 percent, to 4.99 billion euro. When investment income is included, the company exceeded the revenue milestone of five billion euro for first time this past fiscal year. Dachser pushed into a new dimension of internationalization also in regard to figures for employees, locations, and shipments.

DACHSER has increased its stake in Oy Waco Logistics Finland. The air and sea freight logistics company headquartered in Vantaa, southern Finland, not far from the capital Helsinki, has additional sites in the commercial centers Lahti, Oulu, Tampere, and Vaasa and therefore completely covers the “land of a thousand lakes.” In 2012, 54 employees generated almost EUR 24 million in revenue for the company.

DACHSER expands in Scandinavia with the construction of a new 2,600 square meter facility in Gotenburg. The building is to be finished by summer 2014. With 21,650 employees DACHSER is one of Europe's leading logistics companies.
