Our company’s mascots Gerd and Gerda made their first public appearance in Asia during the Career Forum on November 3 in Hong Kong. The mascots welcomed visitors at the DACHSER booth and brought the whole event to life. “Who are the professionals behind the costumes? How did they find the experience to be Gerd and Gerda,” many visitors wondered? We spoke to Eddie Ng, Sales Manager Air & Sea Logistics Hong Kong and Kelvin Cheung, Controller Air & Sea Logistics Asia Pacific to find out more.
Expanding its Life Science & Healthcare capabilities, DACHSER has obtained the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification from IATA for its Frankfurt airport branch.
By 2022, logistics provider DACHSER plans to replace all of its roughly 6,000 ground conveyors in Europe with vehicles powered by energy-saving lithium-ion batteries.

Market Information

Following the expansion of truck tolls to include highways in July 2018, the German government has now decided to increase tolls for trucks of all classes, effective January 1, 2019.
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is taking initiative to promote sustainability and reduce harmful sulphur gases emissions. While the new regulation will be fully enforced in 2020, it will impact logistics cost of shippers in early 2019 already due to investments on carriers’ side.
From November 5 to 10, 2018, Shanghai will host the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Security measures will raise during this period. Shanghai Pudong airport will not accept certain hazardous goods.

Under the motto “Digitally connected, operationally excellent”, DACHSER Singapore presented itself with an eye-catching booth at Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific (ITAP) exhibition from October 16-18, 2018. The industrial exhibition gave DACHSER an ideal platform to address the Singaporean business community.
The DACHSER Asia Pacific team attracted crowds of university students and recent graduates during the 10th Classified Post Career Forum at InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong last Saturday, November 3.
DACHSER Asia Pacific will attend the 10th Classified Post Career Forum , taking place in Hong Kong on November 3, 2018 from 10am until 6pm at InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong. The DACHSER team will introduce career opportunities in logistics and supply chain management, including the Management Trainee programme Asia Pacific.
