Factories work suspended in China for G20

From September 4th-5th, the “Group of Twenty” (G20) will meet in Hangzhou to discuss important issues about global economy. China is getting well prepared for this premium international conference and has officially asked 255 factories in Shanghai to suspend their operation between August 24th to September 6th to ensure the air is less polluted and skies blue during the Summit.
Factories close down for G20.

The shutdown will affect all factories located in a 300 km radius around Hangzhou city, especially its neighboring provinces of Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces, where many large scale factories are situated. During the two-week time, power plants in the 300 km radius zone that rely on coal for energy will be completely shut down, with the usage of heavy machine reduced to a minimum of 30 percent across the Shanghai region.

This will have an impact on different industries. At DACHSER, we do our utmost to assure a smooth flow of goods. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with you local DACHSER representative to get more information.

We will keep you informed when further measures are taken.
