Far East - Europe

The vessel utilization on the Asia-Europe trade remains tight after the CNY holidays, especially in week 7, due to various blank sailings and roll pools. The situation is expected to ease in week 8. Full recovery is foreseen until week 10.

Europe - Far East

Eastbound space remains tight until the beginning of March. As a result, a peak season surcharge was implemented by some carriers. Some carriers are already fully booked until mid of March and only release additional space at higher cost.

Far East - South America

The market after CNY is still weak, vessel utilizations are at around 60-70%. Shipments to the west coast are particularly suffering, further rate reductions are expected during the course of this month. Freight rates are more stable to the east coast.

Carriers have announced various rate restoration measures to the east & west coast from now until beginning of March.
