DACHSER air freight charters reduce transit times during peak season

As part of its continuous capacity management, DACHSER established again regular air freight charters to connect Frankfurt and Shanghai during the peak season. The initiative does not only provide capacities during the tight peak season. It also reduces lead times during this critical period.

With the charter round trips, which DACHSER is operating within its own network, the air and sea freight forwarder is offering its Chinese and European customers a reliable and plannable solution for their air freight shipments. This means that DACHSER can avoid capacity bottlenecks in the current peak season. The chartered Boeing 747 offers a freight capacity of 105 metric tons per flight.

The DACHSER team in China loaded, for example, a garment order which was equivalent to ten 40 feet sea freight containers. The air freight charter makes the garments reach the shop much faster while reducing handling effort significantly.

Yves Larquemin, Managing Director Air & Sea Logistics North China

"Air freight charters can be an attractive transport solution for our customers during the busy peak season," Yves Larquemin, Managing Director Air & Sea Logistics North China explains. "While such a big shipment normally has to be separated in several partial deliveries, DACHSER can move the entire order within one single delivery," he adds.
