As the groupage leader in the German and European markets, DACHSER operates a close-knit overland transport network. But the logistics provider’s closely integrated groupage network extends to sea freight, too. In 2018, 26 new LCL (less than container load) connections will be launched. For six of its existing services, DACHSER is increasing the frequency of departures from every two weeks to every week.
In the 2017 financial year, DACHSER for the first time achieved revenue of over EUR 6 billion. The global logistics provider increased its consolidated gross revenue by 7.2 percent to EUR 6.12 billion. DACHSER also set other company records by handling a total of 81.7 million shipments (+2.1 percent) weighing 39.8 million metric tons (+4.3 percent). On a global level, DACHSER created 1,648 new jobs in 2017.
New opportunities for port to port shipments between Shanghai and Manzanillo
On Thursday, March 22nd, the U.S. Trade Representative, announced additional country exemptions and advised that the exemptions would remain until April 30th. The U.S. President will have until April 30th to determine whether or not the exemptions for these countries would be further extended.

Currently, there is a growing challenge in road transportation capacity in Mexico.
The Trump Administration announced today, May 31, that the exemptions that were in place for products covered by Section 232 for goods with countries of origin in Canada, Mexico, and the EU will expire at midnight on June 1, 2018.
Following recent announcements, all major ocean carriers are introducing an Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) for Full Container Load (FCL) and Less Container Load (LCL) shipments on all trades. DACHSER therefore sees the necessity to follow the same.
Since 20th May truckers in Brazil have been on strike to protest against the rising fuel prices. The strike caused nationwide chaos and delays in shipments.
