DACHSER, a global logistics operator, develops its branch in central Poland. The number of shipments handled by DACHSER in Strykow near Lodz has risen in the first half of this year by 16% compared with the same period of 2017, and their tonnage increased by over 14%. The branch also launched another four direct connections to Germany, thanks to which at the end of June 2018 it had 15 regular groupage lines to this country.
DACHSER, one of the leading logistics operators, has more employees than at any other point in its history: some 30,500 people around the world are employed in the DACHSER group, out of which more than 16.2 thousand in Germany, the home country of the company. The number of employees of the operator is growing also in Poland, currently constituting over 500.
Going on a route with a truck driver, observing operations at a cross-dock terminal and a logistics warehouse, working in the dispatch department and in the international freight forwarding, talking with clients or helping the sales team – these are only some of the tasks to be practised by the interns, who start the year-and-half-long training program at DACHSER in Poland. This year’s, already 8th, edition of the training program has just started. A new group of young people is going to attend the complex and practical school of logistics, which will prepare them for their professional start in the industry.
DACHSER, one of the leading logistics operators, has moved the headquarters of the branch in South Korea to a new, larger location in the center of Seoul. The decision to move is connected with the continuous development of the company, and also lays the foundation for further expansion of its worldwide supply chain solutions.


DACHSER once again organized an annual adaptation meeting for young logistics professionals, preparing them for the internship in one of the leading logistics companies. During the two-day training which took place at the beginning of October in the board office in Lodz, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the company’s strategy and get to know its employees, including Grzegorz Lichocik, Ph.D., Managing Director European Logistics Poland.
DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics organized the transport of vehicle prototypes to and from Namibia. The cars traveled to Africa on a specially chartered Boeing 747-400F to take part in a round of testing; DACHSER took care of customs clearance and security checks. On the outward journey, there was a narrow time window of just 72 hours between pickup in Berlin and delivery in Walvis Bay.
The Polish subsidiary of DACHSER, one of the leading global logistics operators, transported nearly 1.36 million shipments with the total weight of 492,000 tonnes in 2017. This constitutes 14% and 10% more, respectively, than in 2016. As a result, DACHSER Poland generated revenues of PLN 389.8 million last year, which means an increase of 17%.
In April, DACHSER acquired all the shares in its Chilean subsidiary. The logistics provider had entered the Chilean market in 2009 as part of a joint venture.
