DACHSER is growing worldwide

In the last period, DACHSER has managed to grow its business more and more in countries such as Poland, Germany and Korea.

The newly built facility in Sosnowiec is 80% larger than the previous one.

DACHSER launched a new warehouse in Sosnowiec and moved its former Sosnowiec branch to it. The new facility is 80% larger than the previous one, including over 8,000 square meters allotted for cross-docking and contract logistics.

Thanks to the investment DACHSER increased the surface of its branch by nearly 4,000 square meters. Nearly one third of the whole area is taken up by the cross-dock section, whereas half of the area is allotted for warehousing purposes. The office part amounts to 860 square meters. The newly built facility includes 34 loading ramps. They are located opposite to one another, which enables faster reloading.

A great advantage of DACHSER’s terminal in Sosnowiec is its location. The direct proximity of the A4 highway with the S1 road enables fast transport of the shipments. Thanks to the strategic location DACHSER can operate foreign orders even within 24 hours. There are 14 daily line connections from the company’s branch in Sosnowiec, thanks to which the groupage shipments reach all DACHSER branches in Europe, and then they are redistributed to their final recipients in given countries.
The Logistics Center in Sosnowiec is currently one of eight Polish branches of DACHSER. Other branches are located in Stryków, Poznań, Szczecin, Wrocław, Gdańsk and in two locations in Warsaw, one of which is DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics.

DACHSER puts a second contract logistics warehouse and new office space into operation at its Überherrn location. This expansion increases the location’s contract logistics capacity to 62,000 sqm, with space to house a total of 110,000 pallets.

In 2016, a contract logistics warehouse covering 11,000 sqm with space for some 22,000 pallets was added to the existing logistics center. Now, barely two years later, this facility is being expanded once more to include some 19,000 sqm of high bay storage and 35,000 pallet spaces as well as an additional 300 sqm of office space—representing a total investment of some EUR 15 million.

The Überherrn location plays a special role in the DACHSER network: In addition to regular branch operations by day, the logistics center serves as a Eurohub by night—one of three major DACHSER hubs for European groupage handling. Daily departures to a current total of 339 locations across Europe guarantee transit times of 24 to 48 hours. Some 660 employees are responsible for ensuring smooth execution of approximately 71,800 metric tons in monthly transit volume. European shipments dovetail with the services of DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics, which also maintains a presence at the Überherrn branch.

To accommodate continuous business growth, DACHSER Korea has moved its Seoul branch to bigger premises in order to lay the foundation for further expansion of its worldwide supply chain solutions.

The new 479 square meters office space sits on the 9th floor of the Sangjin Building in the city center of Seoul and can comfortably house the team today while leaving space for further expansion. Being conveniently located above the Hongik University station, it is easily accessible to clients, staff and other businesses.

In the past three years, the company has grown from 35 employees in 2014 to 67 in 2017 and it continues to explore opportunities. This is the direct result of the team’s commitment to delivering customer-centric and industry specific solutions that prove to be efficient, reliable and are supported by well-defined processes.

Aside from providing complex supply chain solutions in response to growing customer demand, DACHSER Korea is continuously expanding its services to nurture warehousing and value-added services at three locations, covering Incheon and Busan apart from Seoul.
