Addressing the special needs of the automotive sector is key to the DACHSER growth strategy – globally as well as in the U.S.
DACHSER posted substantial growth once again in 2018. The logistics provider increased its consolidated net revenue by 5.5 percent to EUR 5.57 billion (USD 6.58 bn). As they did last year, shipment numbers increased, rising by 2.5 percent to 83.7 million; tonnage rose 3.0 percent to 41.3 million metric tons. With 30,609 employees in total, up 1,511 from the preceding year, DACHSER’s workforce reached a record high.

On February 1, Vincent Touya joined DACHSER USA as Managing Director at the company’s US Regional Office in Atlanta.
By now, anyone doing business in the Asia markets is well into planning how the continuity of trade will work during the Chinese New Year (CNY) when virtually all business in China, including factories, closes down from one to four weeks. In 2019 CNY will begin on February 5.
DACHSER has named Vincent Touya as Managing Director of its US based organization. Mr. Touya is from France and has been with the family-owned company for over 30 years.
DACHSER is investing more than EUR 20 million in an expansion of its existing logistics center in Malsch, near Karlsruhe. Construction work on a new high bay storage facility covering 21,800 square meters and with approx. 43,000 pallet spaces is in full swing. The specially equipped facility is also designed to permit the safe storage of chemical products and hazardous materials such as paints, coatings, and adhesives. The facility will become operational in the first quarter of 2019.
DACHSER has been honored with the German CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Award, presented by the German CSR Forum, in the “engagement for the civil society” category. Bernhard Simon, CEO of DACHSER SE, and Edgar Marsh, Chairman of the Presidium of terre des hommes Germany, accepted the award from the jury foreperson for this category, Brigitta Wortmann, a member of the Board of Speakers for Germany’s National Network for Civil Society.
As of September 1st, logistics provider DACHSER has more employees than at any other point in its history: approximately 30,500 people around the world are employed by the family-owned company based in Kempten in Allgäu, Germany; that same country is home to 16,246 of those employees. DACHSER has promoted its Head of Contract Logistics, Alexander Tonn, to become the new Managing Director of European Logistics Germany. Tonn will begin his new role on January 1, 2017 overseeing the business development of the 38 German branch offices in the European Logistics business line (overland transport and contract logistics for industrial goods). He will report to Michael Schilling, COO Road Logistics and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, who will continue to be responsible for this position in addition to his duties until the end of the year.
Experienced logistics manager Jochen Mueller will soon be joining the DACHSER team. On January 1, 2018, he will take over for Thomas Reuter as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Air & Sea Logistics business field. The transition period, during which Mueller will work on developing projects, will start on October 1 of this year. Thomas Reuter will remain on the Executive Board in his role as head of Air & Sea Logistics through the transition period until he retires on December 31, 2017.

DACHSER reports strong, organic growth for the fiscal year 2015. Consolidated revenue increased by 6.5 percent to EUR 5.64 billion (USD 6.25 billion). Shipments rose by 4 percent to 78.1 million, while tonnage increased by 5.2 percent to 37.3 million metric tons.
DACHSER has created a new central organizational unit, Corporate Solutions, Research & Development, in order to advance its business with global, industry-specific logistics solutions and bundle its research and development activities. Stefan Hohm, an experienced DACHSER manager, will head this new Corporate Unit. He has led the DACHSER Logistics Center in Hof, Germany for the past seven years.

On Friday, October 9, the German American Chamber of Commerce held its annual Awards Gala honoring DACHSER Transport of America, Inc. (DACHSER USA) as well as several other companies who demonstrate excellence in German American trade.

DACHSER Transport of America Inc. (DACHSER USA), US subsidiary of global logistics services provider DACHSER, increased its revenue by 16 percent to $192 million in 2014 fiscal year. DACHSER also made additional advancements in regards to sea freight and air tonnage. Both grew by 7.3 percent and 23 percent respectively.
