DACHSER India is International Freight Forwarder of the Year 2022

DACHSER India won the highly acclaimed “International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award”, in an eventful evening on day 2 of the event, Air Cargo 2022.

Huned Gandhi, Managing Director DACHSER Indian Subcontinent (in the middle), accepted the award together with the team.

Organized by Messe München and the Indian magazine STAT Trade Times, the award ceremony was held in Mumbai and was conferred by senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation in the presence of some of the most eminent personalities from International Airport Authorities, Airlines, Industry Leaders and other stakeholders of the sector from different parts of the world.

DACHSER India achieved this global recognition for its outstanding performance combined with operational excellence and a focus on quality.

Proficiency in handling cargo and providing tailor made solutions

The award was conferred to acknowledge the company’s contribution to provide one of the world’s most intelligent combination and integration of logistics network services as well as its proficiency in handling cargo and providing tailor made solutions to its customers even during the global pandemic.

On behalf of the company, Huned Gandhi, Managing Director DACHSER Indian Subcontinent, accepted the award together with the team.

“It’s a great honor for us to receive the award for International freight forwarder of the year at the Air Cargo India symposium”, said Huned Gandhi. “I would like to dedicate this award to our teams in India and to our global network for excellence in logistics, enabling us to provide high quality services to our customers”, he added.

Brexit: Important information for ASL customers

We face the possible event that the United Kingdom will leave the European Union by the end of October 2019. This will affect shipments from and to the UK and delays are to be expected. Reasons are amongst others that a higher percentage of shipments has to be processed by customs authorities and that European shippers might switch to Air Freight to avoid border controls. We expect delays particularly for shipments that do not move into the UK directly or out of the UK directly but via continental Europe. For example if Sea Freight shipments are unloaded in Rotterdam and then forwarded to the UK via truck and ferry: 

  • Fiscal representation in continental Europe will no longer be possible for goods to the UK. Instead, a transit procedure must be opened.
  • The expected problems in Calais/Dover will cause delays in the delivery of goods to the UK.
  • Incoterms for subsequent deliveries from the EU to the UK may also have to be converted if necessary, as costs for customs clearance have to be included.

Therefore we strongly suggest to ship directly to the UK whenever possible, at least for some time following the Brexit until things clear up.

DACHSER expands branch in Czech Republic

DACHSER Czech Republic has signed a contract for a new warehouse and administration building for its branch in Ostrava. The overall surface area is 3.900 square metres. Twenty new jobs will be offered in the extended branch. DACHSER plans to move to the new premises in the middle of the summer holidays.

DACHSER Plans New Facility in the North of England

DACHSER in the UK is to build a new almost 5,200 square metre logistics centre in Rochdale to replace its existing distribution facility. The development of the 3.7 hectare (9.2 acre) site represents EUR 16 million (GBP 14.4 million) investment by the company.
