DACHSER Memmingen receives the "JobErfolg 2024" award for employing people with disabilities and chronic illnesses
The DACHSER Allgäu Logistics Center in Memmingen has received the "JobErfolg - People with disabilities in the workplace" award from the Bavarian State Minister for Family, Labor and Social Affairs, Ulrike Scharf. The award in the "Private Sector" category recognizes outstanding commitment to the employment of chronically ill people and people with disabilities. DACHSER in Memmingen, for example, is committed to ensuring that employees with disabilities can participate in working life with individually flexible working hours, advice and support as well as technical aids such as passive exoskeletons for physical support.
DACHSER celebrates its 20th anniversary in Austria
With the founding of DACHSER Austria 20 years ago, DACHSER expanded its international network and set a new milestone for successful and sustainable growth. The Austrian country organization now has a strong branch network with nine locations, employs almost 700 people and generates an annual turnover of 202 million euros. Located in Austria, an important logistics hub in Europe, DACHSER Austria plays a crucial role in the global logistics service provider's network.
Professional truck drivers: Appreciation has right of way
Undoubtedly, theirs is one of the most important jobs in the country: without drivers and logistics, the wheels of the economy would literally stop turning, resulting in empty shelves in supermarkets and department stores. This makes the findings of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) all the more alarming: the freight forwarding industry is running out of young drivers. As many as 62 percent of carriers in Europe complain that they are having major problems recruiting people to drive their trucks.
Name change in Hungary after joint venture takeover
Since June 1, 2024, the former company Liegl & DACHSER continues its logistics activities under the name DACHSER Hungary comprising the business fields Air & Sea Logistics and Road Logistics with its business lines European Logistics and Food Logistics. This administrative step is the last step in closing the acquisition, which took place in December 2022: the German logistics service provider then bought the former co-owner's remaining 50% stake in the companies.
DACHSER increases warehouse capacity in the Leipzig area
The logistics service provider is expanding its logistics space in the Leipzig-Halle area with a new warehouse. The new facility with around 25,000 pallet spaces will go into operation at the beginning of 2025.
DACHSER expands warehouse capacities at two French locations
DACHSER is strengthening its warehousing capacities in France with the construction of new facilities in Roissy and Nîmes. In Roissy in the greater Paris area, 20,000 square meters of warehouse space have been created. In Nîmes in the Occitanie region in southern France, a 12,000 square meter warehouse went into operation.
From Germany to Zambia: young people connect the worlds
Trash4Cash is the name of the waste processing company that young people founded in Zambia in 2019 in collaboration with DACHSER and the children's charity terre des hommes. The business idea, which combines sustainability and social aspects, was born during a youth exchange with DACHSER trainees and young professionals in Germany. Five years later, the group from Livingstone in Zambia has now visited Kempten in the Allgäu again.
Strong initiative against the shortage of skilled workers
The shortage of drivers and skilled workers is a concern for the economy and logistics in particular. It is considered to be one of the critical bottleneck factors for future growth. With DACHSER Service und Ausbildungs GmbH, the logistics service provider launched a sustainable qualification offensive ten years ago. DACHSER is now one of the largest trainers of professional drivers in Germany.

DACHSER & FERCAM Italia has acquired 50 percent of the shares in FERCAM Echo Labs; the non-profit company will continue to operate under the name "Echo Labs by FERCAM & DACHSER".
DACHSER & FERCAM Italia: New location in Cattolica
DACHSER & FERCAM Italia opened a new branch in Cattolica in mid-April, strengthening its presence in the dynamically growing economic region on the Adriatic coast. The area around the provincial capital of Rimini is characterized by industrial companies and, with the furniture factories in the provinces of Fano and Pesaro, has numerous export-oriented companies.
Impact of Red Sea Situation on Market Dynamics
The situation in the Red Sea is not improving in terms of vessel security. The Houthi rebels are expanding their targets in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden forcing ocean carriers to further adapt and change their network to keep crews and ships save. DACHSER once again certified for pharmaceutical logistics
Independent auditors have once again certified DACHSER for the compliant transportation of life science and healthcare products. The branch in Shanghai is recertified according to IATA CEIV Pharma, the locations in Barcelona, Madrid, Mumbai, Frankfurt and the Head Office in Kempten according to GDP (Good Distribution Practice).
New Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and New Zealand
After several years of negotiations, the European Union has concluded a free trade agreement with New Zealand (source: Official Journal of the EU L/2024/866 of 25.03.2024), which came into force on May 01, 2024.
DACHSER at the CosmeticBusiness 2024 in Munich
The industry solution DACHSER Cosmetics Logistics will be taking part in CosmeticsBusiness, an international supplier trade fair for the cosmetics industry, on June 5 and 6 at the MOC Event and Order Center in Munich. The logistics service provider will be presenting its customized transport and logistics services for the cosmetics industry at Stand 09 in Hall 3. This is DACHSER's second time at the trade fair.
