DACHSER České Budějovice moves to new premises

DACHSER in České Budějovice has changed its address after 16 years. Its new location is on Slévárenská street on the outskirts of town, custom-built by the company VGP. The site was handed over on time in mid-March. “We have completed the challenging phase of moving the branch and our staff, and we are starting to take full advantage of the new premises,” says Peter Papan, Branch Manager at DACHSER České Budějovice. He adds: “Modern, spacious logistics facilities will now enable us to provide an even better quality of service, and there are plenty of loading ramps to help optimize and speed up handling during loading and unloading.”

DACHSER is a specialist in groupage services and its branch in South Bohemia has a direct connection to the European overland network with almost 300 DACHSER and partner branches. “The strategic location and larger transit terminal will allow the branch to become a groupage service platform within the DACHSER network for shipments to Austria,” says Jan Pihar, Managing Director European Logistics, DACHSER Czech Republic. In addition, the relocation makes it possible to expand the contract logistics portfolio in České Budějovice.

Expanding the use of E-mobility

The new site employs resource-saving technologies such as LED lighting and heat recovery as well as equipment for the environmentally friendly management of drinking water. The building and the entire industrial park are also being built with the use of future technology in mind. In line with its environmental strategy, DACHSER is expanding the use of electrically powered trucks, and so the České Budějovice branch is also planning to transition to electromobility. It aims to use both fast- and slow-charging stations in the future, and at the new branch, the technical equipment for that can be easily retrofitted.

The DACHSER branch in České Budějovice includes 2,000 m2 of transshipment space and over 4,300 m2 of warehouse space with approximately 6,900 pallet spaces. Roughly 630 m2 is occupied by modern offices. The VGP Park České Budějovice is located on the outskirts of town in the Světlík commercial zone with excellent transport connections to the town center and direct access to the D3 motorway connecting Prague and Linz, Austria.
