DACHSER expands its warehouse capacities in Rottenburg am Neckar

The logistics provider is thus meeting the high demand for warehouse space in the Stuttgart metropolitan region

DACHSER has opened a new warehouse in Rottenburg am Neckar, in addition to its existing warehouse space. As a result, the location in the Ergenzingen-Ost industrial estate is increasing its warehousing capacity to a total of around 46,000 pallet spaces. Construction work on the new facility had begun in February of this year.

The newly built warehouse has 11,600 square meters of storage space and more than 18,000 pallet spaces. The new facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Part of the building can be cooled to meet the needs of the food and pharmaceutical industries. A photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof. DACHSER will use the electricity generated from this in Rottenburg am Neckar to operate the newly built warehouse, among other things.

"The fact that the pallet spaces in the new warehouse were fully marketed even before the start of operations clearly shows the need for additional warehousing capacity. We are particularly pleased to be able to further expand our cooperation with customers with whom we have enjoyed a long-standing and trusting partnership and to offer them an extended scope of services," said Marco Geiger, DACHSER's branch manager in Rottenburg, at the opening of the warehouse last Wednesday. "At the same time, we are pleased to have also acquired new customers who fit ideally into our strategic orientation. The addition of the new warehouse is an important step in the development of DACHSER Rottenburg," Geiger continues.

30 new jobs

The new warehouse has created 30 additional jobs. In total, DACHSER employs around 260 people in Rottenburg. In addition to warehouse space and offices, the facility also provides modern social rooms. "We offer our employees a working environment that meets their individual needs," says Marco Geiger.

DACHSER's Rottenburg branch, which was founded in 1999, is located in the immediate vicinity of the A81 freeway. The location offers a convenient link to DACHSER's European overland network and enables rapid distribution of stored goods throughout Europe.

DACHSER Rottenburg, with annual revenue of around EUR 70 million, offers warehousing and transport services for customers in various sectors, such as pharmaceuticals, food, electrical engineering, the chemical industry, and consumer goods. The offering is rounded off by value-added services, such as special packaging, container stowage, and the license for customs clearance.
