DACHSER grows in the north of Denmark

The logistics service provider DACHSER is growing on the Danish market and opening up the North Jutland region. The new branch in the Port of Aalborg business park will open in the first half of 2024 and will be a hub for the connection to the Nordic groupage network.

By opening a branch in North Jutland, DACHSER is strengthening its market position in Denmark. The new branch is an extension of both the Danish and the Nordic network with good connections to Gothenburg and thus to the other regions of Sweden, Norway and Finland. It is located in the logistics hub in the port area of Aalborg East in the north of Denmark and is well connected to the E45 highway.

"We look forward to soon offering our logistics services to local customers and strengthening our Nordic network with a strategic location in the commercial area of the Port of Aalborg," says Peter Hut, Country Manager Road Logistics at DACHSER Denmark. "The expansion of our network is an important investment and a milestone for us - both in terms of our Danish and Nordic connections and proximity to our existing and future customers in the region."

The new facility has 2,046 square meters of space for a transhipment hall with six gates and 471 square meters of office space. Customers in the northernmost region of Denmark benefit from several daily departures from the branch in Kolding, around 200 kilometers away, to Aalborg, from where the goods are distributed in the region in cooperation with local transport partners.

Central location in the Nordic network

As a first step, a team of five employees from the Kolding branch will move to the new premises in the commercial area of the port of Aalborg, where they will set up an office with goods handling and distribution under the direction of the General Manager of the DACHSER logistics center in Kolding, Per Jensen. "The satellite branch will give us greater flexibility to meet the needs of local companies. This also includes the collection and delivery of goods. We will then gradually strengthen our presence with more employees and further optimize our processes in North Jutland," says Per Jensen.

DACHSER is represented in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway with 13 branches for European groupage transportation as well as air and sea freight logistics services.
