DACHSER in Atlanta again certified with IATA CEIV Pharma

In September, DACHSER renewed its IATA "Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics" (CEIV Pharma) certification for the transport of life science and healthcare products for its American location in Atlanta. The logistics service provider has thus once again underscored its capabilities in the demanding field of life science and healthcare logistics.

The demands on pharmaceutical logistics are high.

The demands on pharmaceutical logistics are high. The handling and transport of life science and healthcare products must meet strict requirements. Drugs, vaccines and other pharmaceutical products are often temperature-sensitive, often time-critical shipments that require compliance with a highly complex regulatory environment. As an industry standard, IATA CEIV Pharma certification covers the specific requirements of pharmaceutical product shippers for safe, compliant and efficient air cargo services. "This recertification is a seal of quality for life science and healthcare shipments, which is once again certified for our Atlanta location," says Timo Stroh, Head of Global Air Freight at DACHSER.

The same standards apply for recertification every three years as for initial certification. These include internal and external training, a review of procedures for handling temperature-controlled life science and healthcare shipments, and a comprehensive assessment of these complex processes by an independent auditor.

Quality-oriented strategy for globally standardized processes

"With CEIV Pharma, we are pursuing a quality-oriented strategy for handling the entire transport chain of these sensitive products all the way to the patient," says Netka Hohlfeld, Department Head Life Science and Healthcare Logistics at DACHSER.

In addition to the Atlanta location, other DACHSER branches on a total of three continents for pharmaceutical transports are certified according to IATA CEIV Pharma: Frankfurt in Germany, Shanghai in China, and the two Indian branches in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Since the quality management system for Life Science and Healthcare Logistics is anchored at a global level, DACHSER can ensure uniform processes worldwide.
