New DACHSER branch in Finland begins operations

Branch operates its own short-distance transport organization to serve the whole capital region

DACHSER recently began operations at a new logistics terminal in Finland. In opening its first cross-dock facility in Kerava in the greater Helsinki region, the logistics provider is expanding its services on the Finnish market.

This September, operations began at the new DACHSER branch in Finland, which boasts a 4,000 m2 transit terminal and around 600 m2 of office space. DACHSER Finland will use the new terminal to process all imports and exports and to handle distribution across the whole of the greater Helsinki region itself. Many Finnish companies are based here in the country’s largest conurbation. The new branch is close to the E75 motorway, the Vuosaari seaport, and the airport, and therefore has good transport connections.

Our new, spacious premises with its own short-distance transport organization enable us to deliver the usual high-quality DACHSER standards to our customers in Finland. At the same time, the facility is perfectly positioned to connect the country to DACHSER’s efficient European overland transport network

“Our new, spacious premises with its own short-distance transport organization enable us to deliver the usual high-quality DACHSER standards to our customers in Finland. At the same time, the facility is perfectly positioned to connect the country to DACHSER’s efficient European overland transport network,” says Tuomas Leimio, Managing Director, European Logistics, DACHSER Finland Oy.

Keeping supplies coming

In Finland as in other countries, the coronavirus pandemic has strengthened public interest in the logistics sector. “The crisis has really given us the opportunity to highlight just how reliable our services are and show that we help maintain Finland’s security of supply,” Leimio continues. “Thanks to close networking with our colleagues around the world, we knew early on what effects the crisis could have on supply chains. This greatly benefited us and our customers here in Finland, as we were able to adapt quickly to the new challenges and maintain the stability of our operations throughout.”

DACHSER Finland Oy was established in 2014 as a joint venture of DACHSER and ACE Logistics Group. Based in Tallinn, Estonia, ACE Logistics Group holds a 50 percent equity interest in the joint venture and is DACHSER’s long-time network partner in road logistics in the Baltic region.

In addition, DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics has four locations in Finland.
