The new DACHSER magazine is here
In times when markets, technologies, and expectations are changing rapidly, we need to set a clear course that has an impact today and puts us in a better position for tomorrow. Foresight and the necessary courage to rethink things—that’s what the stories in the new issue of DACHSER magazine are about.
The branch in Unna, which opened just a few months ago, is an impressive illustration of how developments in the areas of digitalization and sustainability have changed our day-to-day logistics operations. AI-based systems ensure greater efficiency in cargo handling, while autonomous transport vehicles (AMRs) support employees in the warehouse. In addition, care was taken right from the start to ensure sustainable construction and the appropriate infrastructure for electromobility. You can read more about this lighthouse project for the network in the cover story on page 6.
We take a look at another pioneering investment in a report from Hamburg, where Dachser has built one of the city’s biggest charging parks for e-trucks—proving once again that the Hamburg branch deserves its trailblazing reputation. As one of three e-mobility sites (the other two being Freiburg and Karlsruhe), it has researched the practical implementation of electromobility over the past few years. We report on the experiences and insights gained for the entire network starting on page 22.
Our customer story is also about having the courage to try something new, question the status quo, and see things with a fresh eye. In this article, we show how supply chain optimization can be implemented in practice. Together with Dachser, the Swiss company IGP Pulvertechnik AG has realigned its European logistics structure. The two companies deliberately opted for an open, data-based approach, in which they jointly developed not a standard logistics model but a custom solution. You can read more about that starting on page 16.
