DACHSER at LogiPharma 2023 in Lyon

This is the second time the logistics provider is exhibiting at LogiPharma, the world’s leading trade fair for the life sciences supply chain. DACHSER will be presenting the service portfolio for its Life Science and Healthcare Logistics business field solution to customers in the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries at Booth 96 from April 25 to 27.

The life science and healthcare sector has not been spared the upheaval in global supply chains. As a result, there is an increased demand for efficiency, differentiation, and access to new sales markets. What companies are really looking for are digital supply chain solutions that offer a high degree of transparency. Since DACHSER’s logistics experts are familiar with their pharmaceutical customers’ specific challenges and requirements, they can offer them a full range of patient-oriented, pioneering, and intelligent transport solutions.

Drugs and other pharmaceutical products are often temperature-sensitive, urgent shipments that must be handled in compliance with a complex regulatory environment.” A core part of DACHSER’s appeal is the combination of fast air freight transport and seamless distribution via the logistics provider’s overland transport network.

High quality standards and expertise in transporting pharmaceutical products

As a mark of how DACHSER upholds these high quality and performance standards, locations on three continents have received IATA CEIV Pharma certification: the company’s locations in Atlanta, Frankfurt, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad have been individually inspected and certified by local IATA representatives. This means that as a logistics partner to customers in the life science and healthcare sector, DACHSER is present in all key markets worldwide. All told, DACHSER can draw on a network of 139 air and sea freight locations and over 400 LSH specialists trained in Good Distribution Practices (GDP). The Life Science and Healthcare Logistics Quality Management System, which is based on GDP, is implemented on a global level to ensure uniform processes in all countries.

At LogiPharma in Lyon, DACHSER will be presenting its Life Science and Healthcare Logistics business field solutions for the first time in a new look and with the slogan “We care for healthcare. Around the globe.”

Coronavirus pandemic: Impact on operational processing in the USA

As can already be seen from various press releases, the US authorities have enforced a ban with effect from 13 March 2020, 23:59 h, which prevents all entries from Europe into the United States, in addition to the already existing entry ban for visitors from several Asian countries.

This leads to a large number of flight cancellations on routes between Europe and the United States. However, the affected passenger routes also represent a significant portion of the available cargo capacity and therefore there is a massive impact on available cargo space and freight rates.

Our team of experts continues to work hard on alternative options and routes that will allow us to carry urgent cargo and we are committed to providing our customers with priority access to available capacity. As with the successful implementation of our charter program between China and Germany, we are now exploring similar solutions for transportation between Germany and the USA.
