New Managing Director at DACHSER Poland

Michał Simkowski took over as Managing Director European Logistics at DACHSER Poland at the beginning of the year. He succeeds Grzegorz Lichocik, who had led the company since 2007.

Michał Simkowski has been with DACHSER for nearly 14 years. Most recently, he managed the branches in Strykow, Gdańsk, and Rzeszów, and he oversaw the expansion of the branch network as well as continuing development of the DACHSER organization in Poland. Simkowski’s career spans over 20 years in the transport, freight forwarding, and logistics sectors.

In his new role, Michał Simkowski will take charge of the operations and strategic orientation of European Logistics at DACHSER Poland. This includes strengthening the company’s market position, expanding groupage and contract logistics, as well as growing both the DACHSER DIY Logistics solution for customers in the home improvement industry and the DACHSER Chem Logistics solution for customers in the chemical industry.

Further changes in the organizational structure

In conjunction with the appointment of Michał Simkowski as Managing Director European Logistics, other personnel changes were made at the Gdańsk and Rzeszów satellite branches, which Simkowski had managed: Jarosław Witkowski, General Manager of the Poznań and Szczecin branches, will temporarily assume the duties of Branch Manager of the location in Gdańsk, as well. The Rzeszów  satellite branch has been affiliated to the branch in Sosnowiec and will be headed by Paweł Parcz.

DACHSER Poland currently has 25,000 m2 of cargo handling space and some 33,000 m2 of warehouse space for contract logistics.
