Continuous improvement of processes and workflows

Our customers in the rest of the world also appreciate the fact that we review and improve our processes and workflows on an ongoing basis. DACHSER Cargoplus optimized transport from France to Morocco and back for a French high-tech company (see page 16). Moreover, DACHSER has teamed up with an Austrian heat pump manufacturer to manage its European distribution from Linz. Working shoulder to shoulder, the two companies are always looking to identify room for improvement. The story starts on page 22.

DACHSER announces twelve more zero-emission delivery areas in Europe

DACHSER is significantly expanding its emission-free delivery of non-chilled groupage shipments to defined downtown areas. By the end of 2025, the logistics provider plans to launch DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery in twelve more European cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Hamburg, Cologne, London, Malaga, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Toulouse, Warsaw, and Vienna. In addition, the company will expand its existing zero-emission delivery area in Paris.

Adjustment to China Customs Advanced Manifest (CCAM) Regulations
China Customs has released Order No. 56 [2017] which adjusts the already existing “China Customs Advanced Manifest” requirements for air and sea freight shipments to and out of China with effective date 1st June 2018.
 
The purpose of this security filing is to provide the Chinese customs authorities with advance shipment data in order to improve their ability to detect suspicious shipments prior to their physical arrival in China.
 
The carriers are obliged to submit defined freight data elements to the Chinese authorities 24 hours before loading of the container vessel (sea freight) or 4 hours prior to arrival for air freight shipments. In order to be able to carry out the CCAM filing prior to the prescribed deadlines, please kindly ensure that you provide DACHSER with the requested data within the deadlines given to you by your DACHSER branch office.

  • Shipper`s phone number
  • Shipper`s Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status (optional)
  • Consignee`s company name
  • Consignee`s company code*

*company code is the 18 digit Unified Social Credit Code (USCC) (for Chinese companies) or the VAT number for European companies.

DACHSER and Fraunhofer IML continue research partnership

The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML and DACHSER are extending their collaboration in the DACHSER Enterprise Lab for a further three years. Their partnership will continue to focus on research and development projects with practical application benefits for the DACHSER network. These include digital technologies such as data science and artificial intelligence (AI), real-time locating systems (RTLS), 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, and adaptive warehouse systems.

Dangerous goods ban at Shanghai Pudong airport

From November 5 to 10, 2018, Shanghai will host the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Security measures will raise during this period. Shanghai Pudong airport will not accept certain hazardous goods.

During the Expo, the Security Bureau has implemented tight security controls nearby the Shanghai Expo area, the airport and seaport which especially affect dangerous goods. From today, October 23, up to November 12, Pudong airport will not accept dangerous goods classified as 1, 6 and 7.
