Dr. Tobias Burger - COO Air & Sea Logistics

As Chief Operations Officer (COO) Air & Sea Logistics, Dr. Tobias Burger has headed DACHSER's global air and sea logistics business since January 2024. He is experienced in logistic strategies with a deep and comprehensive understanding of global logistics markets. His main tasks include driving DACHSER's growth on the global markets and to further increase profitability. The key for him is linking intercontinental transport with Europe's efficient overland transport network and creating integrated one-stop solutions for a global groupage network. Dr. Tobias Burger decisively directs DACHSER's global groupage strategy to reliably create global, integrated logistics solutions for our customers using the high performance and standardized processes of the DACHSER network.

Focus on global markets

Dr. Tobias Burger, born in 1977, graduated with a doctorate in Business Economics at Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich and then worked as a strategy consultant in the in-house consulting department of Siemens AG for three years. His career with DACHSER began in 2009 as a project manager for special projects in the Finance, Law and Tax executive unit. From 2012 to 2014, Dr. Tobias Burger headed the Strategy Development and Implementation within DACHSER SE. He then took over the lead of Corporate Governance and the CEO Office until 2019. During this time, he worked intensively on the further development and transformation of Air & Sea Logistics. In 2019 he was appointed Deputy Director of Air & Sea Logistics, working closely alongside the previous COO of Air & Sea Logistics, Edoardo Podestà. In addition to the responsibility for the further strategic development of Air & Sea Logistics, he was also responsible for all sales-related tasks on a global level as Head of Global Sales until 2021. From 2021 to 2022, he was also Managing Director for the ASL EMEA business unit. Dr. Tobias Burger places great value on developing the company and his business field in a way that prioritizes the long-term oriented development to ensure stable, long-term solutions for the increasingly complex supply chains of our customers.
